Technique for January 2017 – Standing Rear-Naked Choke Defense
Step 1 – Victor begins his defense by lowering and establishing a good base and defending the choke by pulling down on Brian’s forearm.
Step 2 – Victor swings his right leg back and behind Brian’s stance.
Step 3 – Victor extracts his head from the choke and applies a shoulder lock of his own.

No-Gi Training
As a traditional Gracie Jiu-Jitsu academy, we train with the traditional gi (or kimono), the origins of which trace back to the samurai of feudal Japan. In addition, we also train without the gi on Saturdays. So come down to the academy next Saturday with your shirts and rashguard!

Hurricane Irma Update – Normal Schedule Resumes 9/15/2017
Victor Huber BJJ Academy weathered the hurricane with no damage to the academy. We lost a couple of trees and will need to do some cleanup and lay the mats back down. We will resume our normal class schedule beginning Friday 9/15 at noon.
Great Seminar in East Tennessee
Victor and his daughter Kayla spent the weekend with our affiliate school, Corbin Jiu-Jitsu in Knoxville, TN.
Victor taught a great seminar, teaching students from 7 years old to 60. We’re very proud of the school and the students Robert is building.

Big Mike earns 1st stripe on his brown belt
Everyone who has trained with Big Mike knows how tough he is. Already a judo black belt, Big Mike has worked his way up to 1 stripe brown belt at Victor Huber Gracie Jiu-jitsu. At 61 years old, he is an example that age is truly just a number!
